Shamaila – Lead Educator
I have been working at MOCCA since 2018 and have worked in the Playroom. I particularly enjoy the energy, loving relationships, and creativity of this age group. I am very excited to be here again in 2026. I bring with me an extensive background in education. I obtained a master’s degree in human nutrition from Pakistan and a master’s degree in public health from the Australian National University. Having initially completed Cert III in Children’s Services and then completing a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care has been incredibly rewarding. I also have a graduate degree in Early Childhood Teaching from Victoria University. I will be working five days a week in the Playroom this year. It’s wonderful to see how children grow up and develop their skills, and I am happy to be there for their moments as an educator. I strongly believe in creating a warm and inclusive learning environment where each child feels valued, respected, and safe. I see myself as a facilitator of learning, embracing a child-centred approach that encourages exploration, curiosity, and critical thinking. I am passionate about children’s learning, and I’m looking forward to the year ahead, working in partnership with all families to provide the best possible care for their children.
Eva – Early Childhood Educator
Hi there. I’m Eva Batayola. I’m your child’s educator from Monday to Wednesday in the Playroom. I have been working with MOCCA since the middle of 2016. I love working here and seeing our children grow and respond to kindness and care. I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Science (with honours) and embarked on a successful career in Sales and Marketing in a Multinational Pharmaceutical company for 15 years prior to finishing my Early Childhood Course. I believe that children are precious and unique. They are our future. That’s what inspires me when caring for your children. Our future depends on the values our children gain from us. A future of respect, nourishment, compassion, and understanding can only be achieved if our children embrace these values through our example.
Nicki – Early Childhood Educator
Mfamily has strong ties to MOCCA. My mother taught in the preschool in the 70’s, and I attended as a child, as did my own children. I have two children. My 20-year-old is about to start his second year of University and loves travelling during his uni breaks.
My 18-year-old has just finished Year 12 and is travelling to Japan before she starts University.
In addition to my early childhood qualifications, I have a Bachelor of Visual Arts, both of which have enriched my professional practice in many ways. The Playroom is a vibrant room, full of energy, love, creativity, respect, and humour. I am looking forward to meeting you and your children throughout 2026.
Steph – Early Childhood Educator
I have been at MOCCA since 2017. I have a degree in Communications (Journalism) from UTS, and I worked for many years in media roles before completing my studies in Early Childhood Education at CIT. I am a mother of two girls who both attended childcare, so I understand the importance of quality childcare for families. I am really looking forward to meeting the new children and families who will be joining us in the Playroom this year. I love interacting with the children and am always amazed by their natural curiosity and thirst for learning. I particularly enjoy creating learning opportunities based on their interests.
Jonavie – Early Childhood Educator
Hi, everyone. My name is Jonavie. I was a teacher in my home country in the Philippines, and have continued my passion for working with children since moving to Australia. I hold a Certificate III and Diploma in Early Childhood and Care and have been part of the ECE sector for seven years. I strongly believe that children thrive the best when they feel safe, heard, and valued in their play environment. As an educator, I am committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment where children can freely explore, grow, and express themselves, while also teaching them to understand and respect their boundaries. As a mother, I love raising and learning alongside my child, and as an educator, I see my role as a blessing. I’m so excited to continue learning and growing with the children in the Playroom for the upcoming year. I look forward to all the wonderful experiences ahead at MOCCA.
